Book Release Week!

All for Mage and Melody is OFFICIALLY RELEASED!

Me fighting back all the imposter syndrome that comes after a book release

And with that, my third book is now out in the world. You can buy it here—or anywhere books are sold.

All for Mage and Melody was both the easiest book to write and the hardest book to publish yet. It seemed like everything went right TELLING the story, but getting it to the world was a hero’s endeavor, and one I couldn’t have done without my team.

My street team: thank you. You’re the reason this book has found new readers. It’s always uncertain releasing a book after a Kickstarter, but because of your help, AFMAM is steadily reaching even beyond the bounds of Kickstarter readers!

My family: thanks for dealing with my consistent “crashing out”, as the kids say.

My friends: ditto on the family note. Specifically Sara Francis, Kate Korsak, DE Carlson, Kimberly Byrd, Emilie Hendryx, Amanda Auler, Stephanie Crachiolo, and Bekah Steggs: thank you for being there when I needed to panic about this book at every stage of the process. You kept me sane, and this story wouldn’t have made it without your help.

Some cool things that happened during book release week:

  • K.L. Smith organized this amazing collective reel

  • Lots of incredible reviews came flooding in!

  • My students got HIGHLY invested in the writing process

What’s Next?

If you’ve read All for Mage and Melody, you’re likely mad at me, and I understand that. However, I have GOOD NEWS FOR YOU!

Book 2’s Kickstarter prelaunch is LIVE! It will launch October 2026, but you can follow it now and watch as I update the banner/story with sneak peeks and hints over the next year.

And on the note of hints, I’m leaving a breadcrumb trail to the title in my Flashtober event this upcoming month, so check out my Instagram post Monday for more information about that!

Where is the book right now? It’s actually with several amazing beta readers who are reading through and giving me feedback. They’ll be done by the end of October, and then I’ll clean up the draft in time to let students read and critique throughout January (hopefully). That’s likely when I’ll have the title reveal—I really want it to be a classroom event before a social media one, since that was so fun last year!

After beta/student feedback, I’ll get my amazing editor’s response, and somewhere in there we’ll get the cover, interior illustrations, and Kickstarter stretch goals sorted out. I’m taking my time with this one, but the HOPE is that by giving myself extra prep time, I can speed up the process for Books 3 and 4. Because if you think AFMAM’s cliffhanger is bad…
